On Wednesday, November 25, the World's Largest Gingerbread Pirate Ship returns to the Lobby at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. This culinary masterpiece is made with over 600 pieces of gingerbread and adorned with sculpted pirates with colorful fondant clothing and a chocolate cannon and cannon balls. Inspired by classic Sci-Fi and beloved intergalactic saga's, this year's theme for the Gingerbread Spectacular at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel is Santa's Ultimate Star-cation. Executive Pastry Chef Daniel Dominguez, Assistant Pastry Chef Theresa Ebilane and their talented team of pastry droids boldly went where no pastry has gone before, showcasing Santa and his merry elves celebrating the season in a faraway galaxy. This cosmic creation took the team more than 1,500 hours with 15 pastry chefs working 6 days a week for a month and a half. They used 20 pounds of gingerbread, 120 pounds of powdered sugar, 60 pounds of assorted candy and confections and 70 pounds of assorted cereal and crackers. The “sand” is made with 50 pounds of graham cracker crumbs, 25 pounds of brown sugar and 3 pounds of pumpkin pie spice. Construction moved at warp speed. The display was unveiled at the Holiday Tree Lighting on Sunday, November 22 and will remain on display through January 4, 2016.

Dine-IN Gingerbread House Unveiled by The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain

The ultimate gingerbread experience is now available at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, as the Tucson-area resort has unveiled a larger-than-life gingerbread house featuring its own working fireplace and offering guests the chance to dine inside its edible wall. The mega-gingerbread house at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain includes interior dining furnishings able to host parties of up to six diners, presenting a once-in-a-lifetime new dining opportunity and an experience filled with #RCMemories.

The fragrant dine-in abode was made with 400 pounds of honey, 856 pounds of sugar, 350 pounds of flour, 100 pounds of ginger powder, 50 pounds of cinnamon, 250 eggs and 10 pounds of nutmeg. Located on the resort lobby level, the house is available for complimentary public viewing and may be rented for private dining for up to six guests for a $150 fee, plus meal costs. Regular menu selections can be ordered for private meals served inside the house, including three- or four-course restaurant offerings as well as other flexible menu selections. This year, the life-size gingerbread house will be the Montgomery Place Historic Estate in Tarrytown, a serene reflection of nearly 200 years of continuous family stewardship, is best known as a landscape influenced by the great Andrew Jackson Downing and an architectural landmark designed by Alexander Jackson Davis. The life-sized gingerbread house will be displayed in the lobby and remain until the end of the holiday season. Gingerbread House Competition at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay

The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay presents its 12th Annual Holiday Gingerbread House Competition. As part of the resort's Community Footprints program, the Gingerbread House Competition is a benefit for Coastside Children's Programs (CCP). Professional and self-taught pastry chefs from across the Bay Area create and enter amazing edible gingerbread homes, highlighting the holiday décor at the oceanfront resort. On display from November 30 through December 6, the entries range from intricate gingerbread homes to festive gingerbread villages and themed-entries. Help us celebrate CCP's 40th year of supporting the Coastside's children and families at this year's Tree Lighting and Gingerbread House Contest on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 5 p.m. A panel of judges selects a winner in each category including Child (12 and younger), Child Group (a group of children all 12 and younger) Home Cook and Culinary Student/Professional Chef. Winners are announced at the resort's Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration on Sunday, December 6 after the auction closes at 6 p.m. The Gingerbread Houses are also featured in an online auction with bidding available at www.biddingforgood.com/CCP. Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte Dazzles with Giant Holiday Display including Trees of Thousands of Macarons, 789 Recycled Green Bottles & 1,700 Cream Puffs. Access to The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte holiday décor extravaganza is offered via the hotel Lobby front entrance, located at 201 East Trade Street. Guests complete their tour via the side doors on College Street, as they enter onto the impressive outdoor site of the recycled bottle holiday tree. Filled with both adult and baby penguins, these gingerbread creations can be seen playing, sunbathing, and more. A slide is also built into the extravagant gingerbread house making it an interactive experience for the youngest guests of the The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota. 1,200 gingerbread bricks are used along with 400 roof tiles, 450 pounds of flour, 675 pounds of sugar, and 200 pounds of candy are used to build this penguin wonderland.
