Romantic Valentine's Escapes at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa
“We have one of the most romantic locations in New Mexico, between the beautiful Sandia Mountains and our serene cottonwood forest along the banks of the legendary Rio Grande. Hyatt Regency Tamaya really is the perfect place to relax and connect with your partner or significant other,” said Herb Rackliff, General Manager at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa. “From horse-drawn carriage rides and trail rides at the Stables at Tamaya to signature couples massages at Tamaya Mist Spa and a romantic fine-dining experience at the Corn Maiden restaurant, Tamaya is the ideal vacation spot to treat your loved one this holiday.”

Throughout the month of February, the resort will feature the Couple's Romance Ritual massage at Tamaya Mist Spa & Salon. The 110-minute treatment takes place in one of the spa's comfortable couples' treatment rooms. It begins with a full-body exfoliation followed by an organic shea butter wrap and hot oil scalp therapy, concluding with a nourishing full-body massage.

In addition to the spa, couples can take part in the many other unique, romantic activities available at the property including horseback rides at the Stables at Tamaya, hot-air balloon flights that take off from the resort's very own launch site, fine dining at the Corn Maiden restaurant, and much more.

The Stables at Tamaya features horseback rides for romantic occasions, and over half of the horses there are rescue animals from the Tamaya Horse Rehabilitation Program. Trail rides explore the beautiful, rugged terrain of the Southwest showcasing New Mexico wildlife and vegetation, ancient artifacts and petroglyphs, and sweeping views of the Sandia Mountains and Tuyuna Mesa. The wranglers and staff at the stables work with each couple to plan a customized romantic experience from a special date or anniversary, to engagements and even weddings. The trail rides can include chef-prepared picnics for guests to enjoy while sitting on a bench overlooking the Rio Grande, or a specially-timed break at a hitching post where riders can tether their horses while they enjoy the views, or plan a surprise engagement proposal.

The stables also offer horse-drawn carriage rides through the cottonwood forest. The traditional carriage is pulled by two Belgian Draft, Percheron, or Shire horses and takes guests through the beautiful scenery of the Native American Pueblo and resort grounds.

Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa also provides a romantic fine-dining experience at the Corn Maiden. The restaurant features floor-to-ceiling windows providing panoramic views so guests can enjoy the famous New Mexico sunsets which cast a watermelon color over the Sandia Mountain range. The menu showcases a strong regional influence with hints of global flavors. Corn Maiden specializes in rotisseries with selections including prickly pear duck breast, juniper rubbed Kurobuta pork loin, and citrus jumbo shrimp, as well as decadent desserts including maple walnut cheesecake and house churned ice creams.

The hotel is currently offering the Hyatt Romance Package. Couples who book the experience will receive a welcome gift of chocolate truffles, rose petal turn down service, and a bottle of sparkling wine on the first night of their stay. The package also includes breakfast in bed for two each morning.
