Available to book starting this month, Adobe Rose is the latest suite to join The Inn of The Five Graces’ collection of elegant and individually designed guest accommodations in the heart of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The renowned Relais & Chateaux luxury boutique hotel and spa is known for its incredible hospitality and one-of-a-kind guestrooms, and the new Adobe Rose is no exception. Meticulously designed by owners Ira and Sylvia Seret, every corner of the approximately 1,200-square-foot Adobe Rose (including a spacious terrace) features handcrafted artisanal touches, from hand-carved wooden furniture to intricate mosaic installations, a Seret signature. The new accommodations are the culmination of Ira and Sylvia Seret’s lifelong body of work and showcase the peak artistry, craftsmanship, and design synonymous with the renowned Seret family aesthetic developed over decades.

The new Adobe Rose Suite sits atop the renowned Pink Adobe restaurant, recently purchased by the Seret family and updated to serve as the Inn’s full-service restaurant. The new suite shares the same history and lore of the Pink Adobe, serving as a clandestine gathering spot for A-listers and locals alike to partake in late-night poker games and undisturbed socializing.

A COLORFUL HISTORY WORTHY OF THE CITY DIFFERENT

The Pink Adobe restaurant stands at the heart of Santa Fe’s Barrio De Analco neighborhood, the ‘oldest block in the US.’ Housed in a hacienda-style home dating back 400 years, the landmark restaurant was founded in 1944 by Rosalea Murphy. Known for her colorful personality and independent spirit, Rosalea was a fascinating character in her own right. An early advocate for women's rights, a painter, an art dealer, and a chef, Murphy was born in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1915 and raised in New Orleans to a family of artists and writers. Upon settling in Santa Fe, she quickly made a name for herself as a generous and welcoming host of lively parties and home-cooked meals. The popularity of her Creole meets Southwest cooking led to the opening of The Pink Adobe, which swiftly became a crossroads for cultural exchange at the time. Artists and writers, such as Georgia O'Keeffe, Robert Redford, and Shirley MacLaine, were regulars with Pink Adobe's bar, the Dragon Room, which hosted countless local musicians and visiting performers over the years.

And as the nights went on, the party often migrated to the cozy and private apartment on the second floor of the building, known as "The Shed,” where Rosalea hosted legendary poker games. The games were high-stakes affairs and attracted a colorful cast of characters, with rumors of large sums of money changing hands. It’s even been said that O’Keeffe once won such a large sum of money in one of the games that she used the winnings to purchase a brand-new car.

THE SHED TRANSFORMS INTO ADOBE ROSE

Now adorned with one-of-a-kind pieces hand selected by Ira and Sylvia, the former “shed” interiors include an expansive indigo patchwork sectional and artwork from the Seret’s private collection, including 18th-century Mughal embroidered tapestries and Peruvian prayer blankets. The space is bathed in warm natural light, accentuating the rich hues of the textiles and mosaic details, creating a restful yet inspiring space that reflects the property’s historic architecture and surroundings.

The en-suite bathroom holds an extensive tile mosaic, hand-hewn marble floors & countertops, and is the only suite on the property with a private steam shower. Nestled within the heart of Santa Fe, renowned for its rich cultural heritage and artistic ambiance, this new exquisite space is a testament to the fusion of luxury, craftsmanship, and the enchanting spirit of the Southwest.

In addition to its striking interiors, the Adobe Rose boasts unrivaled views of the San Miguel Mission, the oldest church in the United States. This historic 400-year-old mission serves as a picturesque backdrop, complemented by the scenic vistas of Santa Fe and the majestic Sangre de Cristo mountains. Every room in the sprawling suite offers a glimpse of this captivating view, with the private balcony, the Mughal sandstone-clad bathtub, and the Uzbek embroidered headboard providing particularly exceptional perspectives.
