Seabourn Quest to Feature Innovative Concierge Lounge

Seabourn Quest to Feature Innovative Concierge Lounge
First introduced to acclaim on sister ship Seabourn Odyssey and also a popular spot on Seabourn Sojourn, Seabourn Square -- the brainchild of Carnival Corporation Chairman Micky Arison -- is one of the most distinctive features of the ship. It replaces the conventional reception lobby and invites guests to access every shipboard service in a relaxed atmosphere designed to encourage sociability.

The lounge is furnished with comfortable sofas, easy chairs and cocktail tables, and the walls are lined with fiction, nonfiction and reference books. Eight computer workstations are available for guests to check their emails or surf the Internet during their cruise. One of the most popular spots in Seabourn Square is the European konditorei-style coffee bar, with a tall, gleaming espresso machine serving specialty coffees, drinks, sandwiches, pastries and gelati. The coffee bar is open from 6:15 a.m. until midnight, perfect for both early morning risers and night owls.

In the center of the room is an enclave housing a team of Guest Services Specialists. They sit discreetly at individual desks, ready to assist guests 24 hours a day with any inquiries they may have, from onboard account questions and money exchange to reserving shore excursions and giving advice about ports of call. The Destination Services staff is also present in Seabourn Square, and there is a separate desk where the onboard Cruise Sales Specialist can discuss guests' future bookings in privacy.

At Seabourn Square, guests are welcome to borrow iPods already loaded with a wide range of music from classical to rock and popular music to country and jazz, or netbook computers for accessing the Internet. Aft of the Square is an open deck terrace - an ideal place for guests to take in some fresh air overlooking the wake of the ship.

The Square is conveniently located adjacent to three duty-free shops including The Boutique, offering fine men's and women's fashions and accessories, and The Seabourn Shop, offering Seabourn logo-wear and accessories. The Collection, a curated boutique of fine jewelry and watches from top designers and manufacturers such as Chopard and Aaron Basha, also boasts a private diamond showroom where guests can discreetly view fine diamonds and other precious gems from the most reputable gem suppliers, including Lady Heart and Canadia.

Seabourn Quest is the third iteration of the sleek and widely admired design that first appeared as Seabourn Odyssey in June 2009, and has been hailed as a "game-changer for the luxury segment." The second sister ship, Seabourn Sojourn, entered service the following year in June of 2010. Together, the three new vessels represent a 217 percent capacity increase for the line in a three-year period, allowing Seabourn to offer its guests more departures in more destinations than ever before.

Seabourn Quest's maiden season includes seven-day Eastern Mediterranean cruises, operating alternately between Athens and Istanbul, and Venice and Athens, as well as a seven-day Black Sea voyage. On January 5, 2012, Seabourn Quest begins a 109-day World Cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Venice on a unique eastbound course via South America, South Africa, the Indian Ocean, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean.
