Seabourn Sojourn to visit remote West African destinations this autumn

Seabourn Sojourn to visit remote West African destinations this autumn
With a maximum capacity of just 458 guests, Seabourn Sojourn is able to explore parts of the world that many other ships are unable to reach, including lesser-known towns on the islands of Cape Verde and Bom Bom Island (São Tomé and Príncipe), and along the coasts of Namibia, Angola and Senegal.

Guests keen to get under the skin of West Africa can join the 32-day South Africa Line Voyage. Regions such as Praia (Ilha de Santiago, Cape Verde) offer a whole host of options for those keen to explore – for example head inland to the Santo Domingos villages and find local arts and crafts for sale. Seabourn guests can also visit the iconic Cape Verdean Botanic Gardens and the Se Cathedral Nossa Senhora da Graça.

Located off the coast of Principe, Bom Bom Island is connected to the mainland by a wooden walkway – choose to visit the nearby Obo National Park, practice Portuguese with the friendly locals or explore the region’s colonial past. A stopover in Lüderitz, Namibia also gives guests the chance to spot local wildlife including seals, penguins, flamingos and ostriches.

Other countries visited on this unique sailing include Morocco, Senegal, Gambia, Angola and South Africa.

Seabourn’s three Odyssey-class ships received rave reviews and acclaim as “game changers” for the luxury cruise segment when they entered service beginning with Seabourn Odyssey in 2009, and followed by Seabourn Sojourn in 2010 and Seabourn Quest in 2011. The ships offer spacious suites, most with verandas; superb dining in a choice of venues; open bars throughout the ship; fine wines served at lunch and dinner; award-winning personalised service and a relaxed, sociable atmosphere. At 32,000 tons and carrying just 458 guests each, the ships provide one of the highest ratios of space per guest in the industry and unmatched levels of personalized service from nearly one staff member per guest.
