Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore Unveils Completely Refurbished Tower Wing
Originally part of the grand opening of Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, the group’s first hotel in 1971, the renovation adds to the luxurious urban resort with a refreshed lobby, brand new rooms and suites, three new restaurant concepts, and a revitalized club lounge.

The Tower Wing’s bold design and aesthetic is immediate as guests step into the lobby. Guests can find themselves transfixed throughout the spacious lobby with art installations including Tree Canopy, the breathtaking ceiling art installation by renowned Japanese designer Hirotoshi Sawada. The piece was inspired by the movement of nature and is made of thousands of cascading stylized leaves.

The iconic Tower Wing’s 503 guestrooms and suites are completely refurbished with a luxurious new look. From the lobby, guests are whisked away to their rooms through the stunning lift, which is embellished with authentic Peranakan touches. Guests may choose to stay in any of the 360 Tower Wing Deluxe rooms, 79 Horizon Club Deluxe rooms, the soon-to-open family-themed rooms and suites, five One-Bedroom suites, and the newly added 250-square-meter (about 2,691-square-foot) Grand Suite.

Each renovated Tower Wing Deluxe Room spans a spacious 38 square meters (about 409 square feet). Each room boasts a choice of city or pool views that can be enjoyed from floor-to-ceiling windows. The rooms are complete with a soothing color palette, stylish furnishings, coffee and tea-making facilities, a minibar and complimentary WiFi access.

Guests who book a Horizon Club Room will have access to the exclusive Horizon Club Lounge on level 24. Strategically placed armchairs maximize the panoramic views of the city skyline. Exclusive amenities include daily breakfast, evening canapes and cocktails, shoe shining services and complimentary access to the 24-hour mobile work stations.

Vibrant Dining Options

The Lobby Lounge will showcase the best of Singaporean favorites, including six signature dishes: Fish Head Bee Hoon Soup; Prawn Noodle Soup; Bak Chor Mee; Hainanese Chicken Rice; Katong Laksa; and Chili Crab with Mantou. The dishes have been selected with the help of Dr. Leslie Tay, popular local food writer and founder of the blog ieatishootipost.sg, and perfected by Shangri-La’s culinary team in collaboration with city’s best hawkers.

Located beside the Lobby Lounge, ShopHouse is a grab-and-go concept offering freshly baked bread, homemade sandwiches, salads and snacks, as well as gourmet sauces, flavored croissants, festive goodies, chocolates that are infused with local ingredients and whiskey, and 3D cakes.

An exciting addition to Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore’s exquisite dining experience is NAMI Restaurant and Bar. Located on level 24, the restaurant presents the art of fine Japanese dining with seamless omotenashi hospitality. Guests can reserve a seat at the counter to witness first-hand the entire food preparation process right up to the plating and serving of mouth-watering dishes. On the terrace, Japanese tapas are on the menu, which are perfectly paired with a wide range of premium Japanese whisky and sake. Leading both dining areas is Head Chef Akiba Shigeo, who cooked at the royal wedding of Japan’s Prince Akishinomiya and Princess Kiko.
