Singita Pamushana Introduces Game-Viewing Cruises
Singita Pamushana in southeastern Zimbabwe introduced birding and game-viewing cruise excursions aboard its new luxury range 3G aluminum pontoon boat. The lodge is one of only a few in Africa with access to a private dam and the ability to offer a cruising experience.
Powered by a quiet four-stroke engine, it allows for excellent bird watching and low-impact game viewing from the water. With leather seats and marine grade carpet, the pontoon offers a comfortable game-viewing option, cruising the Malilangwe dam through the African landscape.
Common sightings range from hippos, crocodiles, elephant herds and water buck, to fish eagles, kingfishers and many other species of water birds such as cormorants, darters and crakes. Fishing excursions are also offered on a catch-and-release basis, where the catch of the day may include catfish and bream, as well as the renowned tiger fish and bass.
Singita Pamushana was recently included in Condé Nast Traveler's Hot List 2009. Located on 130,000 acres within the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve, an unspoiled wilderness reserve, it can be reached via a two-hour direct flight from Johannesburg. The property comprises six luxurious suites and a five-bedroom villa.
