Singita Unveils Castleton, Private Safari Lodge Available for Exclusive Use
Formerly the family home of Singita founder Luke Bailes' grandfather, the private lodge is available for exclusive use as one of the group's 12 properties in Africa.

Singita Castleton is set within 45,000 acres of private reserve and consists of a main house and six individual cottages. Reminiscent of an African farmhouse, Singita Castleton has been designed to combine the best elements of a private safari lodge with the added benefit of extensive high-end amenities. The property may only be booked on an exclusive-use basis and includes all staff, a private vehicle and a safari guide.

The private country-style kitchen and resident chef cater exclusively to the needs of the guests staying at Singita Castleton, and meals are planned and orchestrated based on guest preferences. Multiple communal living spaces overlook a watering hole where many animals gather to drink. The lodge is steeped in history and captures the spirit of the original Castleton house, giving it a historical and comforting feel. Décor is rich throughout with splashes of color contrasting with traditional tartans and classic prints. Botanical art references, country furniture and flagstone floors also add a nostalgic, relaxed ambience to the property.

In addition to intimate accommodations, Singita Castleton includes a swimming pool, wine cellar, gym, tennis court and spa treatment room, all of which are for the exclusive use of guests. After daily game drives and activities, guests have the opportunity retreat back to their individual cottages to relax or enjoy the courtyard and traditional boma fire.

With the opening of Singita Castleton, the brand hopes to forge a new style of safari by marrying the amenities expected of a Singita property with the privacy afforded by exclusive use accommodations.
