Six Senses Resort & Spa to Open in Phuket, Thailand
Six Senses Resorts & Spas will open Six Senses Destination Spa Phuket on November 1, 2008. Located on the private island of Naka Yai, 10 minutes by speed boat from Phuket's northeastern coast, Six Senses Destination Spa Phuket offers multi-day programs, also referred to as Life Passages, to transform guests' lifestyles through complete immersion into healthy living. The 61 villas, four interrelated spas and two restaurants will be fully open. Guests can have Indian, Thai, Chinese and Indonesian holistic treatments in authentic settings located in The 7th Sense, which covers a total footprint of 7,500 square meters and comprises four themed spas with close to 40 treatment and consultation rooms, a sensory garden and one of the world's largest watsu pools.

Ayurvedic treatment rooms in the Indian Spa provide a comprehensive range of therapies including the Shirodhara Meditative Balancing. Signature water features located in the Indonesian Spa set a positive mood for indulging in a Balinese Inspiration or Javanese Divine Renewal ritual. Within the Thai Spa, Siam Sensations allow guests to experience traditional Thai therapies, while acupressure body or foot massages are administered by highly skilled therapists under the calming shadow of bamboo trees located within the Chinese Spa. Spa journeys are completed with a carefully selected tea, offering specific benefits in the Oriental embrace of the Chinese Tea Bar.

An integral component of the wellness offering at Six Senses Destination Spa Phuket is the recently developed coaching tool -- The Wellness Wheel. It provides a complete wellness solution by offering assessment, guidance and support through web-based coaching. The tool has been developed for Six Senses Destination Spas in collaboration with a U.S.-based company and assists with the holistic integration and guidance of guests towards a lifestyle of sustainable health, wellness, happiness and personal growth. The coaching program begins with the development of a personal wellness action plan and continues long after the guest leaves the resort by providing feedback on, insights into and ongoing guidance for the guest's lifestyle at home.
