Small Luxury Hotels of the World Announces 11 New Properties
From chic city hotels to secluded wilderness lodges, SLH has expanded its collection in the Americas, Europe and Asia. The new properties to join the SLH portfolio for 2013 to date include:

The Americas

• Refinery Hotel, New York (pictured above) - Opening May 1, the Refinery is a 12-story property that reflects the city's industrial past with contemporary flair. The hotel's own gastronomic micro world provides a prohibition-style tea lounge, a signature restaurant, and a rooftop bar with views of the Empire State Building.

• Mukul Luxury Resort and Spa, Nicaragua - One of the hottest new hotels for 2013, Mukul opened in February and has already become a benchmark for luxury in Nicaragua. The boutique hotel is located in Guacalito de la Isla, a new $250 million, 1670-acre low-density private beach community on Nicaragua's Emerald Coast.

Europe

• The Mirror, Barcelona - Opened in February 2011, The Mirror is situated in the city's fashionable Eixample district. As the name suggests, the hotel's style emphasizes light and reflection, with white-on-white décor and a masterful use of mirrors, making the property an innovative showpiece.

• Hotel Cram, Barcelona - Featuring an elegant 19th century façade that contrasts with dramatic yet contemporary interiors, Hotel Cram is a sleek, modern-designed property located in the heart of the city. Featuring 67 elegant rooms and suites, the hotel is home to Michelin-starred GAIG restaurant, specializing in Catalan haute cuisine.

• De.Light Boutique Hotel, Mykonos - An all-suite boutique hotel, guests will enjoy the views across the Aegean Sea from every angle within the property. Designed with traditional Greek architecture in mind, the hotel reflects the island's cubic white-washed style, while the rooms' décor is crisp with striking colors.

• Porto Kea Suites, Kea Island - A Greek Island retreat, Porto Kea Suites is set an idyllic garden overlooking white sandy beaches and encircled by the sea. The rooms and suites are connected by meandering pebbled paths across the garden and expansive pool, and feature a contemporary chic style mixed with traditionally styled wood furniture.

Asia

• WH Ming Hotel, Shanghai - Situated in a tranquil area of bustling Shanghai, WH Ming Hotel features 166 rooms and suites designed in a modern Art Deco style with traditional Oriental touches. Ming Club, the top floor cocktail bar, offers a great selection of cigars, wine and cocktails and live Jazz performances.

• Hotel Eclat, Beijing - Opened this past February, the visually stunning Hotel Eclat is housed in an architecturally-striking gleaming glass pyramid and features 100 rooms, many with a private terrace and their own pool. The hotel features a stunning contemporary art collection, including original pieces by Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol and Zeng Fangzhi.

• Khyber Himalayan Resort and Spa, Kashmir - The first Kashmir hotel to join the SLH brand, the property opened in December of last year. Khyber is the first luxury resort to open in the skiing destination of Gulmarg, located in the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas.

• Jetwing Lagoon, Sri Lanka - A stylish spa resort set in the serene location between the Indian Ocean and the lagoon at Negombo, Jetwing Lagoon is known for its distinct elegance and peaceful solitude. The 55-room hotel is historically significant for being the first resort designed by legendary Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa.

• Bo Phut Resort and Spa, Koh Samui - Located on the peaceful, tropical Thai island of Koh Samui, Bo Phut features 61 rooms, including 32 villas - some with outdoor Jacuzzis and private pools - all designed in modern Thai style. Guests will enjoy L'Ocean, an all-day beachfront restaurant that serves a selection of local and international cuisine.
