South Africa's Kurland Hotel Introduces Polo Clinics for All
Tailored to meet the needs of beginners and more advanced players alike, the clinics will be run by professional South African players and will comprise practical teaching, morning stick and ball sessions and wooden horse work and practice chukkas in the afternoons, culminating with a ‘mini' match on the last day.

Situated in the heart of South Africa's Garden Route, Kurland Hotel has long been renowned for its glorious grounds, home-style atmosphere and equestrian facilities. Featuring four boarded fields, fully equipped stables, veterinary clinic, a 1km sand exercise track, grazing for up to 450 horses and specialist polo training equipment including mounted visual recording tools for swing analysis, Kurland is synonymous with fast and furious polo on quality grounds. Guests can be assured of some of the finest schooling during their stay with a choice of four resident South African polo professionals, whose handicaps range between 3 and 6 goal and who each offer a string of 20-50 horses, to provide customised tuition for each participant.

The clinics will run from 1 November 2011 to 31 May 2012, with reduced capacity around the dates when the Plettenberg Bay Polo Tournaments are played. These include the Kurland Cup, 17-23 December; the Kurland Open on 29 December and the High Goal (15-20 goal) Kurland International which takes place in the run up to Easter - a popular period for English players looking for a pre-UK polo season ‘warm up'.

Furthermore, in December Kurland's polo grounds will host a Children's Coaching Clinic for the first time. Aimed at a maximum of 30 children, 7-18yrs old, Kurland hopes that this course will become a regular for both local and international young polo enthusiasts.

Kurland stands out above other polo centres due to the superb facilities on offer for polo aficionados' friends and families. The hotel boasts luxurious accommodation, fine cuisine, highly personalised service and a stunning location within the Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve which allows guests the chance to enjoy forest walks, unspoilt beaches, water sports such as surfing or scuba diving and even extreme activities such as bungee jumping or sky diving. They can also visit nearby farm style shops and the town of Plettenberg Bay for some more serious shopping.

Whether a complete beginner, a high or low handicap player, or even a willing companion, Kurland Hotel and its magnificent polo grounds provide exceptional experiences that will keep guests returning again and again for seasons to come.

Accommodation at Kurland starts from Rand1250 (approx. £100) and polo tuition from R500 (approx. £40) per hour. Clinics are tailored to each players ability and the number of people in the group. Please contact Kurland for further details Tel: www.kurland.co.za
