Synchronized Swimming Back in Vogue at London's Berkeley Hotel
Ahead of the Olympic Games, Aquabatix will host a weekly 90-minute master class during the month of July in the hotel's open-air pool which boasts panoramic views of Hyde Park. A first in London, the classes are open to hotel guests and visitors alike and priced at £125 per person.

Fast becoming the new fitness craze, synchronised swimming is a great way to keep fit and get in shape for summer. This artistic sport is known to boost flexibility and agility as well as work key muscles throughout the body. The Aquabatix team will first showcase one of their award-winning routines, after which attendees will enter the water to learn some of the key movements. By the end of the class, the group of maximum 8 girls will be able to perform a complete routine.

“Our team is so proud to show off their skills in what must be London's most glamorous pool, and we can't wait to teach Londoners and guests at The Berkeley all about the ‘egg-beater kick' and ‘sculling'!” commented Katie Fried, Director of Aquabatix.

Swimmers will learn several key skills including the ‘egg beater kick', a form of treading water that allows for stability and height above the water while leaving the hands free to perform strokes, as well as ‘sculling', hand movements used to propel the body which are the most essential part to synchronised swimming. The session is completed with a choreographed routine with accompanying music.

The Berkeley synchronised swimming master classes in partnership with Aquabatix are available every Wednesday in July – 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th July 2012 – priced at £125 per person and last 90 minutes. The classes take place between 6:00-7:30PM and attendees are provided with Berkeley swimming caps to take home.
