Taj Boston Named Best in Boston by Institutional Investor
"We're delighted to have our New England flagship property rise so dramatically in this prestigious survey since Taj Hotels acquired it in January 2007. These accolades are a fine tribute to the entire staff under the insightful direction of General Manager David Gibbons," said Raymond Bickson, CEO and Managing Director, Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces.

The iconic Taj Boston, at the corner of Newbury and Arlington streets overlooking the Public Garden, is celebrated in the current survey as the hotel that "best reflects a city renowned for its art, culture and high society." The survey continues to note that "Taj Hotels' assuming operations has brought levels of service to a new standing with legendary Taj flair" and that the Taj Boston is "a definitive symbol representing the best of Boston." The property was previously ranked #90 worldwide in the 2007 survey.

The current survey also ranks Taj Boston sister properties among its top 100 hotels worldwide: the chain's legendary flagship in Mumbai, The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, is ranked #83 in the world and The Pierre on New York's Central Park is ranked #86.

Institutional Investor magazine's annual "World's Best Hotels" survey is voted on by frequent travelers from the financial industry's top management in 34 countries throughout North & South America, Europe, Asia/Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

Taj Boston occupies the city's most prestigious address at Arlington and Newbury Streets. Overlooking the Public Garden, the property is within walking distance of historic sites, theatre and financial districts as well as fashionable boutiques and galleries, and is just four miles from Boston's Logan International Airport. Opened in 1927, the luxury hotel features 273 guestrooms, including 45 suites offering wood-burning fireplaces and the services of a Fireplace Butler.

As a preferred social and business center, Taj Boston is noted for its fine dining in The Café, Afternoon Tea in The Lounge and cocktails in The Bar with live music. The Taj Club Lounge offers exclusive pampering and there is a Fitness Center, the Chanel boutique in the lobby as well as state-of-the-art Cisco TelePresence Room, business and guest services.
