With self nominations rising a phenomenal 50 % from 2009, and involving over 180,000 travel professionals from around the globe the World Travel Awards has become recognised globally - by both the trade and the consumer as the "Oscars of the travel industry”.

It is therefore tremendously gratifying that the unique benchmark for quality and service excellence striven towards by Thanda Private Game Reserve, has been recognised by global voters for a second year running.

Representing the owners of Thanda, Swedish Dan and Christin Olofsson, Thanda's Managing Director Pierre Delvaux graciously accepted the award as the ‘World's Leading Luxury Lodge' commenting, "It is enormously gratifying to know that Thanda can once again be selected among hundreds of the World's top class lodges and not only finish among the top eight finalists, but be able to win the same award two years in a row, particularly in such a challenging and highly competitive marketplace.
