Those unable to attend the auction on the 17th June can view the 6 meter high original in Nelson Mandela Square, Johannesburg. Alternatively they can enjoy viewing a smaller copy of about 30cm high by staying at Villa iZulu the private bush home of the Swedish owners, the Olofsson family, at Thanda Private Game Reserve. Available to guests on an exclusive-use basis, Villa iZulu sleeps up to ten in five suites and comprises a library/cigar lounge, wine cellar, playroom, heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, an outdoor boma and a helicopter pad for those preferring to arrive incognito. Fully serviced and with a dedicated complement of staff, this magnificent 900sqm villa is set within a beautiful, fully fenced garden for their younger guests to enjoy playing in freely and safely. From here guests spend days spotting some of Africa's greatest wildlife on safari drives and bush walks, and can immerse themselves in the Zulu culture by spending time in the rural communities to further enhance their African experience.

Thanda Foundation Trust initially commenced its relationship with the Mandela Family when Nelson Mandela approved the first public statue to be erected at Nelson Mandela Square, formally known as Sandton Square, in Sandton, Johannesburg. Thanda Foundation Trust founders Dan and Christin Olofsson, as well as other Swedish Businessmen, funded the commission. Erected in 2004, the 6m statue was the work of South African artist Kobus Hattingh who was later commissioned by Nelson Mandela to sculpture three further life-size copies. The statue up for auction is one of these, the other two are in South Africa, at Thanda Group in Zululand and in Mandela's birthplace, Mvezo.

Prices for Villa iZulu start from Rand 28,200 (approx. US$2660) and include exclusive use of villa with dedicated host and service team, chef, game ranger, tracker and safari vehicle. Also included are all meals & selected local beverages (soft drinks, house wines, local spirits and beers), Wi-Fi and laundry as well as 2 game drives per day and guided bush walks with specialist walking guides.
