The Knickerbocker Hotel Taps NBA All Star Larry Johnson as Fitness Curator
Serving as the property's Fitness Curator, Johnson has collaborated with The Knickerbocker and leading boutique fitness studio, The Movement, to create an innovative fitness program, providing hotel guests with a cutting-edge health and wellness experience.

“We are extremely excited about Larry's addition to The Knickerbocker team as our Fitness Curator,” said Jeff David, Managing Director of The Knickerbocker. “We're committed to providing our guests with the best of everything New York has to offer. By partnering with Larry, a legendary New York icon and championship athlete, we're developing a completely unique program that redefines health and wellness in the hospitality industry.”

Hand-selected by Johnson, The Knickerbocker fitness facilities will feature state-of-the-art equipment with two independent gyms, designated specifically for cardio or strength training. The cardio studio will feature the latest treadmills, ellipticals, and MyRide V3 spinner bikes by MATRIX. All machines will offer FitTouch Technology with an intuitive 15-inch, integrated LCD screen, and will be equipped with NIKE + iPod connectivity. Music playlists will be thoughtfully developed for both the strength and cardio studios to create a fully immersive, energizing fitness experience.

Taking fitness beyond the facilities, The Knickerbocker has also partnered with boutique fitness studio, The Movement. Guests of the hotel will have access to a selection of innovative, motivational group classes held on-property, as well as priority reservation access to classes held at The Movement's New York City studio in the Flatiron District. In addition, The Movement will offer guests in-room workout videos and guided runs around New York City with certified fitness instructors.

“Fitness has become an essential part of our everyday lives,” said Johnson. “We're looking to offer hotel guests personalized fitness training that is on par, if not better, than their exercise routine at home. Through our curated selection of best-of-breed fitness equipment and offerings, we're proud to provide The Knickerbocker guest with a program that is both unprecedented and unexpected.”
