Shanghai Shook Up Over the Most Anticipated Restaurant Opening of the Year
Over 400 of Shanghai's movers and shakers were welcomed by Ms Susan Chen, President of Swatch Group China and Mr James McBride, President of YTL Hotels to experience a memorable night across three showcase venues.

The Gallery, The Swatch Art Peace Hotel's function suite, played host to a live band and DJ, while Shook! restaurant itself was transformed into Executive Chef Kevin Cape's world of flavors, with food flowing through the hustle and bustle of the guests. Guests on the night were also treated to a special sneak preview of The Swatch Art Peace Hotel Terrace, a beautifully appointed rooftop balcony for over 200 people looking over the historical Bund.

With Shook! now in full flow for the summer, Executive Chef Kevin Cape and his team have launched the ‘1, 2, 3, Shook! Is Ready To Go Lunch', with two course and coffee for only RMB 123 every day. In the evening, guests can experience the full array of Shook!'s flavors with ‘A Taste of Shook!', a five-course menu showcasing Shook!'s East-meets-West theatre kitchens priced at RMB 988 for two.

Shook! Shanghai is the second Shook! restaurant by Malaysian YTL Hotels, after Shook! at YTL's Starhill Gallery in Kuala Lumpur. It occupies the penthouse floor of The Swatch Art Peace Hotel, a Renaissance- style 1906 heritage landmark on the Bund.

Helmed by Executive Chef Kevin Cape, Shook!'s open culinary theatre comprises four master chefs and four distinct cuisines. The unique menu features whispers of Chinese, Japanese, Southeast Asian and modern Western cuisines, yet is flexible enough to transport you anywhere your heart and palate desires. Signature dishes include snow white dancing prawns (stir-fried prawns with hot mayonnaise sprinkled with honey-glazed walnuts), confit of slow-cooked salmon, and cajun-style seabass.

Along with the mod-Chinoisserie main dining area, there is also the chic Time Bar and The Gallery, a multimedia banquet hall ideal for private receptions for up to 250 people. On the sixth floor, The Swatch Art Peace Hotel Terrace offers alfresco lounging and stunning views of the Huangpu River and Pudong. The hotel's two defining domed towers, the Corner Tower and Blancpain Room, are ideal for intimate candlelight dinners and private events. Also on the sixth floor, the Chiang-Soong Room is one of the city's most historic exclusive meeting rooms. The room, now restored to its original elegance, is the very same venue where the First International Opium Conference was held in 1909. It is also where Chiang Kai-Shek and Soong Mei Ling celebrated their engagement in 1927.
