The Palm Court, Garden of the Hassler Roma Opens
With the arrival of the summer season accompanied by warm weather, the Palm court is the ideal place to enjoy a pleasant break only minutes from the famous shopping streets of the city center.

The garden, located within the hotel, is circumscribed by the ancient walls of the adjacent sixteenth century church, and, in part, by the slope of the Pincio hill. With its height and vegetation, the hill provides the Palm Court with a natural shelter from the sun, promoting the establishment of a cool and pleasant micro-climate throughout the day.

The Palm Court, then, becomes a favorite destination for lunch, dinner or a cocktail, surrounded by the ancient walls and the stunning Neoclassic statues that decorate the oasis of relaxation. Guests can savor the various gastronomic delicacies proposed on the menu, created for the occasion by Marcello Romano, renown sous-chef of the Hassler Roma, under the supervision of Executive Chef Francesco Apreda.

Among the dishes suggested are a series of appetizers that exalt the flavors of the sea by proposing a variety of raw fish such as tuna tartare or carpacio of cod with onion stew. For those who would like to combine haute cuisine with a quick meal, the Palm Court menu also offers a choice of sandwiches like the Hassler Sandwich or the Hamburger with smoked provola.

The menu continues with first courses, from which guests can order new interpretations of traditional recipes from Lazio-based cuisine like homemade spaghetti with cacio and pepper or carbonara risotto with pecorino or guests can let themselves be conquered by the intense flavor and aroma of orecchiette with seafood, asparagus and sundried tomatoes.

Second courses favor instead a wide selection of fish and meat served grilled as is used in brasseries or for more demanding palates the possibility to order the freshest sea bass al cartoccio with capers and olives or a slice of swordfish with tomato puree.

Guests can allow themselves to be tempted by the delicacy of the classic Hassler tiramisu or those who love seasonal fruits have the possibility of trying seasonal fruit served with cold coconut and anise soup.

For those who choose to indulge in the pleasure of an aperitif, it is possible to sip a Bellini cocktail in the garden, made with fresh fruit puree and prosecco and accompanied with a choice of oysters, a selection of fried samplers, or a tasting of season cheeses and cured meats.

From 7:30 p.m. guests can also delight in a pleasant musical accompaniment that ranges from classical to jazz, which continues until half past midnight with the aid of a beautiful voice that accompanies the piano.

The Hassler Roma hotel has a total of 95 rooms, 13 of which are suites, and is located at the top of the Spanish Steps (Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti). It is recognized as the best hotel in the capital by the prestigious American magazines, Condé Nast Traveler and Travel & Leisure. It offers a classic and elegant setting, where recently added modern touches result in the perfect balance between past and present. The magnificent “Salone Eva” with the annexed Hassler Bar is the most famous lounge in the heart of the Eternal City. It is the perfect place for afternoon tea, a business lunch or for a snack after the theater. The hotel's restaurant, “Imagò” (one Michelin star), is located on the sixth floor and offers one of the most strikingly beautiful views of the Eternal City. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and delight your palate with the high quality modern Italian cuisine and creativity offered by Chef Francesco Apreda.

Hassler Roma was founded in 1893 and has been owned by the Wirth family since the 1920's. Today the President and General Manager is Roberto Wirth, a direct descendant, who, with almost 30 years experience in hotel management, is the most experienced hotel manager in Italy and legendary landlord of this magnificent five-star luxury jewel of the hotel industry; the ideal meeting place for political, economic and cultural exchange at the highest level for national and international celebrities.

In 1999, Roberto Wirth, President and General Manager of the Hassler Roma Hotel, bought the "Palazzetto," located in Trinità dei Monti Square. His vision was to expand the historic hotel brand. The Palazzetto is one of the most spectacular resorts in the heart of the city. This is the same place where, over 2000 years ago, Lucullus (famous politician of the late Roman Republic) held his sumptuous banquets.

Located a few steps away from the Hassler Hotel and situated right next to the Spanish Steps, the "Palazzetto" offers an elegant and unique setting featuring four charming rooms, beautiful lounges and a restaurant with a beautiful panoramic terrace.
