The Plaza Launches Partnership with Magic Tree House Children's Series
As the first of its kind, this literary partnership provides boys and girls the opportunity to set off from the historic hotel to explore the big apple as inspired by the books. Widely regarded among parents, teachers, and librarians for its power to instill a passion for reading, the award-winning Magic Tree House series is an international phenomenon and has sold more than 100 million books worldwide and has been translated into 32 different languages in over 30 international markets.

The Magic Tree House Experience at The Plaza will transform seasonally, pegged to one of the popular fiction books with the corresponding Magic Tree House Fact Tracker–the non-fiction companions to the fiction titles–and supplemented with New York activities that bring each story to life. In addition, guests booking the package will receive a custom Magic Tree House Plaza Passport in which they collect stamps to document their participation in seasonal Plaza experiences, a variety of New York City activities and Magic Tree House events. Guests of the famed hotel will be filled with the same curiosity that inspires Jack and Annie at the onset of the series when they discover a magical tree house filled with books that whisk them away on epic endeavors around the globe.

Starting December 14, 2012, to welcome the first guest, the holiday package features the Magic Tree House book “Eve of the Emperor Penguin,” in celebration (and in hopes!) of a white winter. Young explorers will also receive a copy of the corresponding Fact Tracker, “Penguins and Antarctica,” and the special Magic Tree House Plaza Passport. Friends of Jack and Annie will visit real life penguins and other creatures from Antarctica on a trip to the local-favorite Central Park Zoo, receive a signature pin to wear during their stay, and enjoy a custom welcome treat upon arrival . Extending the partnership throughout the building, a variety of books from the Magic Tree House series and other items will be sold in the Eloise at The Plaza shop and books will be available in other languages upon request with advance notice.

From Eloise to The Knights of The Plaza, the hotel has long been a leader in innovative family experiences. The launch of the partnership with the Magic Tree House continues the commitment to entertaining and educating even the youngest guests. The Plaza Family Ambassador is on hand for all guests and able to assist with arranging experiences around the city, from private shopping tours at FAO Schwarz and custom guides of the city's best playgrounds, to access to museum exhibits and activities that will bring out the carefree child in everyone.
