The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis Completes $1 Million Lobby Lounge Renovation

The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis Completes $1 Million Lobby Lounge Renovation
The new look of The Lobby Lounge is designed around the theme, “Rhythm and Martinis,” which infuses the traditional Ritz-Carlton elegance with renewed energy and the social air of a modern club.

A favorite St. Louis gathering spot featuring light fare, afternoon tea, a legendary lineup of over 200 martinis, and live entertainment, The Lobby Lounge received gold leaf embellishments to its coved ceiling and the luxe-lacquer wall behind its mahogany bar. Titanium gold granite tops the bar while brass accents frame the bar's illuminated vellum front. New, Deco-inspired glass screens are introduced between columns within the bar, adding interest as well as veiled views. The custom-made screens were crafted in the Czech Republic in a region with over seven centuries of glass-making tradition. The Czech company, The Lasvit Group, has made variations of these “glass walls” as well as other custom-mage glass and crystal installations for residences and hotels around the world; from Hong Kong to Moscow, Abu Dhabi to Los Angeles, and Paris to Prague.

New tufted, leather settees, barrel-back lounge chairs, and cocktail tables of leaf and mahogany were introduced. The furniture's textured upholstery immerses The Lobby Lounge with shades of rich russet reds, deep blues and slivery taupes, and a new latticed-patterned carpet boldly invites guests into the iconic space. The hotel's famed Sushi Bar is enlarged as well as redesigned to match The Lobby Lounge's new look.

Guests entering The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis are still welcomed by the hotel's trademark features - mahogany millwork, classic Rosso Levanto marble floors, and grand chandeliers - but with a twist: new, modern artwork that reflect the “Rhythm and Martinis” theme.
