The Roosevelt New Orleans Makes the Holidays Sparkle
The block-long, gilded Waldorf Wonderland Lobby – evoking raves from locals as well as national and international guests – returns with a canopy of white birch branches, thousands of twinkling lights and scores of sparkling Christmas trees. The displays will remain up through Jan. 4.

The hotel also once again will observe Hanukkah with Menorah lightings every night at sundown starting Nov. 27 and ending with a lighting at sundown Dec. 5.

A gingerbread village depicting some of Louisiana's famous plantations – San Francisco, Laura, Oak Alley and Nottaway – will be displayed inside Teddy's Café off the hotel's grand lobby beginning Dec. 1. The “plantations” will even include gardens, trees and gazebos, all made of candy and gingerbread, along with a moving “steamboat” making a tour down the Mississippi River.

“The Waldorf Wonderland Lobby is for adults as well as children,” said Tod Chambers, general manager of The Roosevelt. “Seeing the smiles on our visitors' faces and hearing the giggles of children can be the most heart-warming experiences of the holidays. We're pleased to play such an important role in creating lifetimes of memories.”

The holiday delight, an attraction for everyone who visits New Orleans and the hotel during the season, has been a tradition since the 1930s.The displays are free and open to the public.
Also adding to the holiday spirit is The Roosevelt's beloved Teddy Bear Tea, which returns Dec. 1, 7-8, 14-15 and 20-23. The event hosts guests and their children for a special tea party featuring children's menu items, as well as traditional tea. Adults can enjoy a cash bar and their own menu items, plus complimentary free-flowing champagne. Children will receive this year's commemorative Roosevelt Teddy Bear. Entertainment will include storytellers and trumpeters, as well as appearances by Santa, his elves and Mrs. Claus. Commemorative photos with Santa will be available at an additional cost.

Teddy Bear Tea will be held in the Crescent City Ballroom, with seatings at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. most days. The exact schedule is available at https://bit.ly/Teddytea. Regular-admission tickets start at $61; VIP, at $78. Prices do not include tax or gratuity. Tickets may be purchased online at https://bit.ly/Teddytea or by calling The Roosevelt's Holiday Line at (504) 335-3129.

In addition, a holiday cocoa station in the lobby will serve customers from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Dec. 1 through 23.
