The Ultimate Charter: Orient-Express Trains & Cruises Invite You Onboard
Over the years, Orient-Express has perfected the art of welcoming corporate groups on-board their trains and cruises for the ultimate charter experience. Orient-Express experts are on hand to draw up tailor-made itineraries offering the ultimate in corporate dining and entertainment for all occasions. Private parties can board Asia's only luxury train through Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Laos – or alternatively meander up the Ayeyarwady River in mystical Myanmar on either of Orient-Express' luxury cruisers.

Why: A trip on-board the Eastern & Oriental Express, the Road To Mandalay or the Orcaella offer a unique setting to impress key clients. It's a great way to kick start/round off a corporate event or to launch a new product to staff or industry partners. The experiences offer a luxurious setting, are highly entertaining, need little theming and with nowhere to go but down the track or up the river, it ensures you have a captive audience.

The Experience: With a capacity of up to 132 passengers in colonial-style carriages, the Eastern & Oriental Express train offers a large selection of journeys including the ‘Classic' Bangkok to Singapore and vice versa, as well as the more extensive and adventurous ‘Chronicles of South-East Asia' experiences. The journeys offer guests the most luxurious and stylish way to see exotic landscapes, and can propose an extensive programme of exciting excursions, overnight off-train experiences, guest lecturers on board and an exciting range of entertainment. From the jungle-clad hills of the Cameron Highlands, to the Mekong River to discovering relatively unknown Thai treasures, itineraries can be personalised to suit all timetables and desires.

Alternatively, the 82-passenger, Road To Mandalay and its new sister cruiser, Orcaella, which launches in July and will be able to accommodate up to 50 travellers in 25 cabins, roam Myanmar's Ayeyarwady River playing host to a variety of exciting and unique excursions for charters. With Myanmar on your doorstep, the river cruises allow for a range of individually tailored events extending to hot air balloon rides over Bagan, trishaw tours, horsecart rides, bird watching, bike tours, lacquerware workshops, golf at Old Bagan, boat racing and holy temple dinners in Mandalay.

An example of a unique private hire on the Road To Mandalay embraced a typical ‘Burmese Feast' whereby an otherwise empty stretch of sand was transformed with the use of locally built bamboo dining tables lit with Shan paper lanterns created by Burmese artisans as well as torch lit and imported banana palms. Guests arrived by local wooden boat to enjoy a typical Burmese culinary experience of local delicacies ‘Tea/BBQ-Shop' style.

Coming into service in the summer of 2013, the nimble Orcaella will cruise the Ayeyarwady River and will also meander up the Chindwin River, winding its way through western Myanmar as far north as Homalin, just 30 miles from the Indian border - into a new region rarely visited by tourists. Highlights include seven and 11-night cruises, providing a rare opportunity to explore this magical country's rich heritage, natural beauty and friendly people.

Don't Miss: Unique entertainment is available on-board including traditional performances, fortune-telling as well as murder mystery entertainments and a string quartet.
