The Willard InterContinental Offers $450,000 'Stay Like a President' Inauguration 2017 Package
The nearly 200 year old hotel will offer its “Stay Like a President” package celebrating the 45th American president, appropriately priced at $450,000, to include luxury transportation from door to door, accommodations in a storied Presidential Suite, and a series of ‘only in Washington' experiences throughout the four night stay.

Offering sweeping views of the National Mall and Washington's iconic monuments, The Willard has played host to some of the most storied moments in American history, hosting social events, landmark meetings, and every sitting U.S. president since John Tyler (1841-1845). Authors and poets have penned their works at The Willard, including Walt Whitman, Charles Dickens and Mark Twain; and Martin Luther King Jr. finished his “I Have a Dream” speech in the hotel ahead of climbing the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to deliver it. The Willard is living history, with a unique blend of contemporary luxury and renowned charm, subtly reflecting the spirit of the American capital.

General Manager Patrick Birchall explains, “Every day we welcome guests from around the country and the world to the Willard InterContinental, offering a personalized luxury that is unique to our hotel and its 200 year history. We look forward to sharing another inaugural celebration with our guests, as we welcome a new president to Pennsylvania Avenue.”

The buyer will enjoy round trip transportation for two (2) from anywhere in the continental United States to Washington Dulles Airport (IAD) on leading global private jet carrier Charter Wind, as well as private limousine airport transfers and on-call service through the duration of the stay. The package includes four (4) nights' accommodation from January 17 to January 21 in a Presidential Suite, aptly named for a former American president – Lincoln, Adams, Jefferson or Washington, and spanning nearly 3,000 square feet overlooking the Pennsylvania Avenue parade route between the U.S. Capitol and White House.

Upon arrival, guests will be treated to cocktails in the Round Robin Bar developed by resident mixologist and bar historian Jim Hewes, drawing inspiration from the drinks preferred by past American presidents. Each day will begin with breakfast for two (2) in-suite, and on one special afternoon the couple will share lunch in Café du Parc with iconic American journalist Larry King, who has interviewed every sitting President since Ronald Reagan. Dining like a President does not end there. On one memorable evening, Executive Chef Peter Laufer will prepare a five-course private dinner for eight (8) served by a team of dedicated butlers in-suite. The dinner courses will be paired with wines from vintages that correlate with the years the incoming President's political party (Republican or Democrat) won the Presidency – 2004, 2000, 1988, 1984, 1980 or 2012, 2008, 1996, 1992, 1976 respectively.

The “Stay Like a President” package also includes special access to insider Washington via a behind-the-scenes tour of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's annex, led by former Navy test pilot and three-time NASA astronaut and Shuttle Commander of Space Shuttle Atlantis, William F. Readdy. Readdy will lead a nose-to-tail tour of the Space Shuttle Discovery which he flew twice on STS-42 and STS-51. In 2017 the Willard will make a donation in the buyer's name to The Challenger Center for Space Science Education.

Throughout the stay guests will be provided personal shopping services by Neiman Marcus, to include alterations and custom fittings, and will leave Washington with a unique keepsake provided by the White House Historical Association.
