Trendsetting New Swiss Hotel Joins Small Luxury Hotels
Amid breathtaking alpine scenery on the shore of Lake Lucerne, POHO is one of just ten hotels in Switzerland to join the collection of exquisite hotels. The boutique hotel opened only last year combining "cool design with pure pleasure" targeting the 20-45 age group with the promise of "chilling-out in style".

Small Luxury Hotels of the World only admits hotels with unique design, character and charm, and POHO director, Mr. Philipp Musshafen, said: "To be part of one of the best hotel groups in the world is a dream start and confirmation we are on the right track." The hotel's lakeside promenade offers stunning alpine views of the so-called "Riviera of Central Switzerland", with chestnut trees, palms and orchids adding to its Mediterranean flair.

POHO offers 45 rooms and introduces trendy and young "urban lifestyle" to Lake Lucerne. Rooms for couples or families are designed as "individual chillouts" in warm colours with a view of the lake and mountains. Guests also discover a seamlessly integrated high-tech oasis with flat-screen TVs, Play Station 3s and GenevaLab sound systems.

"We provide an innovative, lifestyle oriented, holiday experience with extraordinary accommodation, multiple leisure activities, and an abundance of catering services in the heart of unspoilt nature," said Mr Musshafen. "We are a trendsetter for the new, creative and unusual."

POHO's dining options range from pasta in every imaginable and unimaginable variety, plus off-bat tapas, in the avant-garde POHO Dining Lounge. Rustic, down-to-earth and authentically Swiss hearty fare from bratwurst to bauernrösti is on the menu at the Weggiser Stübli restaurant and bar. Sharing its historic 100-year-old ancestral gallery, with original Dutch stone walls, POHO Wine Cellar run by cellarmasters Bretscher & Jud houses over 500 wines.

At the hotel, a unique POHO Wellness World features a mystical black swimming pool with sensuous underwater photos by New York artist Howard Schatz, sauna, steam bath, solarium and gym with the newest 'technogym' equipment and endurance appliances, such as the Cardio Wave, Galileo and Kinesis.

While The POHO Lakeside Center is the ultimate outlet for water sports enthusiasts in summer, from waterskiing to wakeboarding, there is also a Lido / indoor swimming pool for year-round bathing.

The adventurous can also go para-gliding, nordic walking or explore a rope park of 2.5 kms. When the snow falls, the resort is a base for winter sports. In the summer, the Lakeside Terrace is at the centre of social life. The new POHO was born from the old Post Hotel Weggis and former Weggis Casino, with a modern facelift to architecture from the former 80s, in tones of white, yellow and ocher refreshed with blue and turquoise balconies. By night the facade radiates contemporary urban light.

Decor in the trendy POHO Bar is splendid Moroso furniture from the Italian designer Antonio Citterio. "POHO offers a well rounded and unique experience" added Mr Musshafen.

POHO is only an hour's drive from Zurich and sister hotel to one of Europe's leading luxury hotels, Park Hotel Weggis.
