The following day, October 3, guests are at leisure to explore their choice of Montreal's many boutiques, galleries and museums, or select the optional Via Rail Canada day trip to Ottawa, Canada's capitol city, and experience the fall majesty of Gatineau Park and the storied history of Parliament Hill.

The ship is fresh from her $132 million enhancement that added new dining options, refreshed accommodations and, as the only pet-friendly ocean liner, kennels were expanded and a new owner lounge and playground were added to accommodate 24 dogs and cats. As the ship will remain in port overnight, guests may tour Quebec City at leisure on October 5, returning in time for afternoon embarkation and a glorious evening with a myriad of dining and entertainment options from casual to elegant as the ship sails toward Saguenay, Quebec.

On October 6, guests can explore the stunning scenery and glacier-carved cliffs of Saguenay Fjord National Park as well as the bustling city life of Saguenay. The region is a popular place for whale spotting. Dotted with tiny villages reminiscent of rural France, the area is also known for its many galleries, artist workshops and interpretive centers. The following day, the Queen Mary 2 sails along the striking Gaspé Peninsula, known for dramatic views of Percé Rock and small fishing villages, and breaching whales off the shores of Forillon National Park.

In addition to multiple dining and lounge options, the ship is home to the Canyon Ranch Spa Club, five heated swimming pools, a Golf Simulator, paddle tennis, shuffleboard, and a fully-equipped gym and fitness center. In the Planetarium at Sea, guests may view the stars, take a virtual ride into outer space or take a course in celestial navigation.
