Viking Legend Embarks on Inaugural Voyage
Still on its maiden voyage, Viking Legend is close to its full complement of 189 guests within its 98 deluxe staterooms en route from Amsterdam to Budapest along its Grand European Tour itinerary, one of Viking's most popular cruise tours.
One of the first to be certified under new European Union guidelines regulating greenhouse emissions, Viking Legend is a harbinger for a new era of European river cruise travel. The new diesel-electric hybrid engines use an estimated 20% less fuel. The two engine rooms, one fore and one aft, are both completely noise-insulated, ensuring a very quiet ship. Viking Legend has additional green features including its own membrane water treatment plant that help reduce its impact on the environment.
