As fashioned by Jocelyne Sibuet of the French family-owned hotel group Maisons et Hotels Sibuet, the thoroughly romantic hilltop address entices with a distinctive air of bohemian cool, subtle French charms and tropical chic Gypset design befitting the relaxed and laissez-faire spirit of the island.

Decor throughout each of the hotel's 21 distinctively designed bungalows and three exclusive villas was sourced by Jocelyne Sibuet, who traveled through 8 countries in pursuit of just-the-right furnishings to bring her design vision to life. Rattan bedside tables were found in Java; woven cotton bedspreads were made in Tunisia; decorative tabletop “feather trophies” were created in Indonesia; pineapple mirrors of golden brass are from Morocco; and distinctive floor lamps were handcrafted in France, to name a handful. Textures and materials are earthy and natural throughout, among them macramé, bamboo, wooden beads, rattan, leather, straw, and seashells – lots of seashells, including 10 kilos some chandeliers – to pinpoint some.

In the hotel's tailor-made Library relax with a good book in a Plantation Spirit armchair of wood and leather, with your drink resting on a solid wood coffee table and feet planted on carpet woven of cotton and silk. On the terrace at the signature dining experience Francois Plantation, sink your appetite into sophisticated Caribbean-accented French cuisine served on pineapple yellow-toned tableware made exclusively by Mason Jars and enjoy the comfort of Plantation-style teak tables and West Indies Spirit mahogany chairs with backs hand-carved with “traveller's trees”.

In the Rum Bar, step across dark hardwood flooring beneath slowly circling mahogany fans to sip any of 26 rums from 15 countries at the ebony wood bar. Meanwhile, the hotel's Pure Altitude Spa is an equally inviting space with tropical décor through each of two treatment rooms.

Villa Marie Saint-Barth's opening rates range from a starting rate of 400 to 2100 Euro for a bungalow to 1300 to 4200 Euro for a villa. The rate is based on two guests, includes breakfast and airport pick up and return shuttle.
