COMO Shambhala Estate and Parrot Cay have teamed up with top yogis to lead the immersive retreats, each with a different focus. Currently, there are three retreats on the calendar for 2012:

• The Curry Sisters' ‘Recharge' Retreat led by the Curry sisters, April 22-28
• Yoga, Tea and You - A Joyous Journey Yoga Retreat led by Sheldon Grant Leon, June 1-7
• The Art and Science of Your Yoga Practice – A Therapeutic Approach led by Judy Krupp, October 8-14

About the Yogis

Andrea and Christina Curry
Andrea Curry has been practicing yoga for over 15 years and teaching internationally since 2000. She trained with David Goulet and Marina Hallerman in Thailand as well as with Ana Forrest in Seattle. Her passionate and focused style is inspired by Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Forrest yoga traditions. Christina Curry also trained with David Goulet, Marina Hallerman, and Ana Forrest, as well as Ganga White and with Tracey Rich through the White Lotus Foundation. Her enthusiasm for yoga led her to Thailand in 2002, and she has since been teaching in the Maldives, Bhutan, Bali, and the U.S.. Her style is grounded in Vinyasa with influences from and exploration into Pranayama, Hatha, Raja, and Ashtanga yoga.

Sheldon Grant Leon
Sheldon specializes in nutrition and herbal-based therapies and has been conducting his own clinical practice for over fifteen years, combining skills in herbology, eye diagnosis (an alternative medical diagnosis method), kinesiology, and detoxification programs. Through his naturopathic studies, he is trained in massage, specializing in deep tissue, Chinese remedial along with foot and hand reflexology.

Judy Krupp
Judy has been teaching yoga for over 20 years with a zeal for educating students in the science of human movement in relation to the art of Asana practice. She guides students so their bodies gracefully flow without restrictions or weakness, connecting mind, body, and breath.

About the Retreats
The Curry Sisters' ‘Recharge' Retreat
Yoga specialist Andrea Curry, in collaboration with her sister Christina, will be leading a six-night retreat at Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos. The retreat will be open to all, including beginners. Daily yoga classes will include pranayama, meditation, and asana. Through creative sequencing and open dialogues, this empowering retreat will explore habitual thoughts and behaviors, strengthen the mind and body, and encourage inner peace and relaxation. Throughout the retreat week the Curry sisters will also recommend specific COMO Shambhala treatments. Daily meals from the healthful and delicious COMO Shambhala Cuisine menu will complement the rounded physical, mental, and spiritual experience.

Yoga, Tea and You - A Joyous Journey Yoga Retreat
This six-night retreat comprises five days of yoga classes at The Estate and is open to beginners as well as experienced practitioners. The daily sessions will focus on yoga and meditation in order to bring balance to the body, mind, and spirit. During the retreat week, Sheldon will introduce participants to the ‘High Mountain Tea' ceremony in which he demonstrates the incredible health benefits of Taiwan's High Mountain Oolong Tea, including its antioxidant and deodorizing properties. Sheldon will also cover yoga philosophy, Buddhism, and nutrition. Throughout the retreat, he will recommend specific COMO Shambhala treatments for each guest, from a calming COMO Shambhala Massage to a Reiki session. The retreat is suitable for single travelers, couples, or a group of friends.

The Art and Science of Your Yoga Practice – A Therapeutic Approach
Offering five days of yoga classes with the full support of healthy eating, this retreat will explore the deeper openings of the moving body. Venturing beyond the muscular-skeletal to work more organically, what makes Judy's retreats unique is her relaxed style and likeable humor. Her teaching reflects her original training in the Iyengar system and work as a Myotherapy body therapist to help habit-prone bodies increase strength and flexibility. Her multi-faceted approach blends her passion for the art of Asana practice with the science of the mechanics of movement.
