Visit the 1,000th UNESCO World Heritage Site with Belmond Botswana
The area is popular with safari-goers hoping to spot some of the world's most endangered large mammals including the cheetah, white rhinoceros, black rhinoceros, African wild dog and lion.

Guests can experience this acclaimed region for themselves at Belmond Eagle Island Lodge in the heart of the Okavango Delta, where those booking four nights or more* in July, August and September will be treated to a complimentary 35-minute helicopter safari, picnic and fishing excursion.

Belmond have operated in Botswana since 1992 and are experts in this rich and complex region. The luxury travel company also operates Belmond Khwai River Lodge in the Moremi Reserve and Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge in Chobe National Park: remote retreats perfectly positioned for exploring the area's breathtaking contrasts and untamed beauty. Guests booking this fantastic offer can combine Belmond Eagle Island Lodge with one or both of its sister lodges for a diverse safari experience.

July, August and September are exceptional times to visit Botswana, as the weather warms up and growing herds become easier to spot in the bare bush. In July, the floods arrive in the Okavango Delta and animals congregate near the water and floodplains, while in August adventurers may be in for some thrilling game viewing as crowding near the water causes tension between breeding herds of elephants. September still sees high levels of elephant and buffalo as water levels slowly begin to drop.

A helicopter flight over Botswana is a true adventure, soaring overhead as animals roam freely in their natural habitat below. Guests will also enjoy a secluded picnic in the bush and go fishing for bream, talapia and tiger fish, before returning to the lodge by motorised boat.
