Westin Jackson Honors Music Legends of Mississippi with Guitars for Guests
Each guitar represents a famous American guitarist, Muddy Watters, Elvis Presley, BB King, Jimmy Buffet, Prince, and Marty Stuart, all of whom hail from or have significant ties to Mississippi, letting guests step into the persona of these music superstars for their stay in the Birthplace of the Blues, Country and Rock and Roll. Upon opening August 3, 2017, The Westin Jackson guests will be able to enjoy one of these legendry replicas in the comfort of their own guest room by booking the Music Legends of Mississippi Package.

The guitars are iconic instruments that made the select musicians famous and are highlighted as the main feature behind the front desk at The Westin Jackson. The models include Muddy Waters’ Guild S 200 Thunderbird and Fender Deluxe Nashville Telecaster, BB King’s 2005 Gibson Lucille, Elvis Presley’s Gibson EDS 1275 Double Neck, which Elvis played in the movie Spinout, Jimmy Buffet’s Fender Classic Series Telecaster Thinline, and Marty Stuart’s Gretsch G9350 Park Avenue F Style Mandolin. Also featured are Prince and his iconic Purple Love Symbol Guitar. Alright Prince does is not from Mississippi, the program pays nod to the musical genius who hails from Minnesota, the location of the headwaters of the Mississippi River and Minneapolis-headquartered Wischermann Partners and their influence in the development of The Westin Jackson.

The Music Legends of Mississippi package starts at $280-$300 per night. Delivered to the guest room with amplifier, headphones, and Music Legends of Mississippi swag, the guitars are kept in the guest’s room for the duration of their stay. Guests can choose from seven different guitars upon check in, depending on availability. Guitars are not available for individual check out without booking a room package.

Marking the brand’s debut in Mississippi, The Westin Jackson is positioned to reinvigorate the city of Jackson and boost tourism, ideally located in the heart of downtown Jackson and within walking distance of the Mississippi Museum of Art, Federal Courthouse, Planetarium and Thalia Mara Hall, the historic music and arts theatre.
