What’s on at Nobu Bar at Nobu Hotel London Portman Square This Autumn

Including a new music event every Thursday, a partnership with Idris Elba’s Porte Noire Champagne and a series of events for London Cocktail Week celebrating sustainability and females in the industry.

‘Drop The Beat’ Event Every Thursday

Launching October 5, Nobu Bar at Nobu Hotel London Portman Square invites guests to its new event, ‘Drop The Beat’. Taking place every Thursday at one of Marylebone’s sleekest bars, Drop The Beat will be an evening combining a mix of 80s disco and funk inspired by the legendary Japanese nightclub, Maharaja, with a new cocktail menu devised by Bar Manager Sophie Bratt in collaboration with House of Suntory.

Showcasing females in the industry, Sophie has specially selected DJ Megan Fernandez to take over the decks each week. Renowned for delivering a memorable and creative performance for any audience, Megan is a self-taught house Music DJ, Radio Host & Producer. She has performed all over the world in night clubs, private yachts, members clubs and festivals, as well as radio shows in France, Ibiza and the UK.

Drop The Beat also sees a partnership with House of Suntory - the pioneer of Japanese spirits - to create an expertly crafted cocktail menu for a Nobu Portman Square twist on classic drinks. House of Suntory’s Haku Vodka, Toki Whisky, Roku Gin and Hibiki take center stage for a selection of cocktails including the Kokoro; using Haku Vodka and Sakura Vermouth with a unique blend of cold brew hibiscus flower, jasmine kombucha and verjus for a floral yet dry tipple and the Toki with a punchy blend of ginger ale, finessed with a gold shimmer.

SAVE WATER, DRINK CHAMPAGNE

Until March 2024, Nobu Bar at Nobu Hotel London Portman Square will also be introducing the ultimate collaboration with Porte Noire. Founded by Actor and Musician, Idris Elba, alongside Frenchman and Oenophile David Farber, Porte Noire was born out of a shared passion for wine and is now available exclusively to try in London at Nobu Bar.

Inviting guests to drink Champagne while making a difference, Nobu Bar will be donating proceeds to The Water Project with every glass of Porte Noire Champagne drank. A charity chosen by Idris Elba, The Water Project is a non-profit organization with a mission to unlock human potential by providing reliable water projects to communities in sub-Saharan Africa who suffer from a lack of access to clean water and sanitation.

From the vineyards of the Sanger school in Grand Cru Avize, Porte Noire Champagne is an exceptional and original expression of a perfectly matured chardonnay. The Sanger school has an interesting history, dating back to the first world war and keeping the art of champagne making alive after the war desecrated France’s vineyards. Champagne created here today is of the highest quality, made with a refined skill that has been passed down through generations.

Porte Noire is £30 per glass or £180 per bottle and available at Nobu Bar until March 2024.
