Windstar Named Most Romantic Cruise Line
Windstar Cruises, which operates a three-ship fleet of luxury yachts that explore hidden harbors and secluded coves of the world's most treasured destinations, has been recognized by Porthole Cruise Magazine as the "Most Romantic Cruise Line" for the seventh time in a row along with Windstar's Wind Surf voted "Best Tall Ship" in the 13th Annual Readers' Choice Awards.

Several thousand readers cast their ballots, voting in a variety of cruise categories in the annual awards poll. The full list of winners can be found on the magazine's website www.porthole.com and are featured in the December 2011 issue of Porthole Cruise Magazine.

Each year, honeymooners and couples celebrating special occasions sail on Windstar due to the yachts' romantic ambience. In 2012, Windstar debuts a new collection of extraordinary voyages to some of the most romantic ports in the Caribbean, Costa Rica and Europe.

Not only has the line launched new voyages in 2012, Windstar recently announced an $18 million fleet refurbishment plan. Each yacht will receive stylish, new furniture, upholstery, art, lighting, wall coverings, carpeting, ceiling finishes, window treatments, and floor coverings, elevating the look and feel to ultimate luxury at sea, providing an unparalleled guest experience.

In addition to its Porthole Cruise Magazine honors, Windstar Cruises has been recognized in 2011 by some of the most notable names in the travel and lifestyle world. Celebrated Living, American Airlines' prestigious publication for first class passengers, named Windstar Cruises “Best Small-Ship/Mid-Ship Cruise Line" on their Platinum List for the fifth time in a row. Condé Nast Traveler listed Windstar on its Annual Gold List of "Best Cruise Lines," named Windstar a "Top Small-Ship Cruise Line," and all three of Windstar's yachts were recognized in the magazine's "Best Small Ships" Readers' Poll. Earlier this year, Windstar was selected by Travel + Leisure as one of the top five "World's Best Small-Ship Cruise Lines."
