Zambia's Tongabezi Lodge Offers Victoria Falls Package
The package promises “an awesome perspective to see Victoria Falls” and features swimming in the rock pools below the falls, surrounded by massive black basaltic rock towering above and water cascading down.

The Bundu trip starts with a walk down beautiful Batoka Gorge. Adventurers paddle in Bundu rafts across the boiling pot and then start canyon-ing through a series of rock pools or walk on boulders (depending on water levels and preferences) to the cascades. It is possible to swim and relax in the rock pools directly beneath the waterfalls.

Part two of the adventure begins at Livingstone Island, named for the famous explorer who first viewed Victoria Falls from the island in 1855, and said, “Scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight.” It might just be the most unique picnic spot on the planet. The view from Tongabezi's picnic table is second to none – those enjoying their repast are surrounded by wild water that plunges down 338 feet into the Batoka Gorge. The island is a short boat trip away from the Royal Livingstone Hotel jetty, but access is seasonal and depends entirely on the water levels of the Zambezi, the river after which Zambia is named.

Only 16 guests may visit the island at any one time, ensuring the protection of the World Heritage Site. Visitors receive a full, guided exploration of the island that includes information about its ancient history.
