Zurich's Baur au Lac Hotel Announces Ninth Art in the Park
The show is created and curated by Gigi Kracht, the wife of Andrea Kracht, the hotel's sixth-generation owner, in collaboration with Gallery Gmurzynska.

This year's theme walks the fine line of figurative abstraction, as interpreted by some of the finest contemporary artists: Fernando Botero, Alexander Calder, Robert Indiana, Robert Klippel, Jani Leinone, Joan Miro, Tom Otterness, Marco Perego, Mel Ramos, George Rickey, Rotraut, Kenny Scharf and David Smith. Featured works of art will include Mel Ramos' life-sized sculpture of a woman emerging from a Snickers candy bar and a colorful 'bridge' from Rotraut (both pictured, above). David Smith's 'Primo Piano' will be the most valuable piece in the exhibition's history - on sale for €10,000,000 (pictured, at right).

Opening the weekend prior to Art Basel, Art in the Park is widely considered an un-official prelude to Art Basel as many of the industry's most noted collectors visit this exhibition before going on to Basel.
