INSIDER TIPSBest Time To Visit: Dry season offers the best chance of Lion sightings and easiest access by road to Kidepo. The rainy seasons are April-May and October-November. Tsetse fly is very bad in the Acacia forest in Kidepo. This nuisance factor is continual throughout the year, but worse in the rainy season. By road it is at least 9 hours drive from Kampala. Most guests fly to Kidepo Airport, either using the lodge's private plane, or by chartering a private plane...or through the 3-times weekly scheduled service of the local scheduled airline Eagle Air. There is an airstrip very near the lodge and the lodge runs complimentary transfers to and from this strip. |
