Rains are heavy, mountains are hidden in clouds, sunshine is sparse and poor for photographs, the weather is often chilly, and roads can be difficult to navigate. The winter months, from December through February, can be rather cold and the scenery is less colorful, although the abundant sunshine and dry weather may make winter ideal for hikers and some other travelers. The rainiest months are from late July through September. The driest months in Lijiang are from December through February. |
