Benesse House Spa provides holistic natural therapies which use the power of nature to heal and promote harmony throughout every cell of the body. The treatments include aroma therapy using essential plant oils carefully selected by our therapists, thalassotherapy utilizing Naoshima's Inland Sea climate and the richness of the ocean, and stone therapy, which transfers the energy of natural stones to your body and mind. Benesse Art Site Naoshima offers a selection of luxury accommodations:

Park - the largest Benesse House accommodation, is a two-story wooden building with one reinforced concrete underground floor and a total of 41 guest rooms. It was constructed to blend in with the surrounding woods. In addition to a lounge for exclusive use by overnight guests, Park features a spa and shops that are open to the general public. Opened in 2006.

Beach - a two-story wooden building with eight suite guest rooms, is located closest to the beach. Along with Park, Beach was designed to be environmentally friendly, using easy-to-recycle laminated timber. Relax and enjoy yourself in the easygoing atmosphere against the background of the sound of waves. Opened in 2006.

Museum - In addition to the art displays, Museum features 10 guest rooms, a restaurant, a café a library, and a shop. Works of art are on display throughout the building for a sensuous experience of being literally surrounded by art. Opened in 1992.

Oval - Located on the top of a hill, Oval is an exclusive accommodation with six guest suites, connected to Museum via a monorail. Leisurely enjoy the architecture and views to your heart's content with an inner garden featuring an oval pond and a rooftop garden providing a stunning panorama of the Seto Inland Sea. The bar lounge offers cocktails and other refreshments. Opened in 1995.

Benesse House Spa - Before your treatment, feel free to enjoy a Jacuzzi bath in the outside deck area, with its foliage-filtered sunshine and soothing sea breeze, and relax your weary body and mind.

Treatments for Women

Aroma Therapy - Quality essential oils extracted from plants are used for this all hand treatment.

Thalassotherapy - This natural therapy increases your inherent healing power by using high mineral content sea mud and seaweed produced by the Inland Sea marine climate of Naoshima.

Stone Therapy - This treatment transfers the energy that is only found in natural stones to your mind and body.

Lymph Drainage - This treatment improves the flow of the lymphatic system inside the body.

Special Face Care - Essential oils and cosmetics are carefully selected by our therapists for full-face treatment (from the decollete to the head) in accordance with your skin conditions.

Special Body Care - Luxurious original Paul Scerri treatment program exclusively using Paul Scerri products from Switzerland.

This is a limited service only for men who are staying at Benesse House. *Please note that the Spa relaxation area is for use by women guests only.

GETTING THERE

When going to Naoshima by plane, we suggest that you use Takamatsu Airport or Okayama Airport. When coming by Shinkansen Bullet Train, it is convenient to arrive via JR Okayama Station.

Benesse House provides a courtesy bus service to and from Miyanoura Port. Guests using Honmura Port will be transported on request. Please contact the Front Desk in advance.
