Amanpulo (peaceful island) embraces the entire sand and coral island of Pamalican, an hour's flight from Manila. The resort opened in 1993 with 40 casitas modelled after the Philippine bahay kubo dwellings. An idyllic, tropical haven for the beach lover, Amanpulo is set on its own private island surrounded by white-sand beaches, turquoise waters and a coral reef. AMENITIES
The resort’s 40 casitas (65-square-metre cottages in hillside and beachfront settings) are modelled after the Philippine bahay kubo (native dwelling). Inside, decorative details pay homage to neighbouring islands: pebble-washed walls, coconut-shell tables, rustic Palawan rice and knife baskets, a king-size bed with a rattan headboard and sliding-glass doors that reveal outdoor decks with his-and-her divans. Nearly half the space in a casita is given over to a Cebu-marble bathroom, with twin vanities, separate changing areas, a shower and an elegant bathtub. All rooms have satellite TV and CD players. DVDs can be supplied upon request. |

DINING
The Restaurant, located in a wing at one end of the clubhouse, spills out onto a terrace, with views to Manamoc island across the channel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here. The menu features Asian and Continental cuisine and fresh seafood is a specialty. Lunch, snacks and refreshments are also offered at the Beach Club. Barbecues at the beach may be arranged and private dining is available day and night. Amanpulo’s marble-top Bar occupies a cosy corner of the Clubhouse and extends to the outdoor terrace. |

Amanpulo keeps a variety of boats for island hopping, fishing and lazy-day sailing, including the 34-foot Dolphin 11. The fibreglass Gulf Craft can take up to 10 guests on half-day and full-day charters. Manamoc Island, across the channel, is a popular cruise and picnic area. Other sea-going options include a sunset cruise and a leisurely cruise of the Sulu Sea by moonlight. Guests can arrange for a private beach barbecue dinner after their cruise. |

GETTING THERE
Address: Amanpulo is located on the private island of Pamalican, in the Cuyo group, about 300km southwest of Manila.
Airport: Manila
Transportation: Amanpulo is accessed by scheduled charter flight from Manila, which has flights to several major international destinations. Guests are met at Manila's international airport and taken by complimentary transfer to the Amanpulo lounge, adjacent to the departure point. Transfers and flight vouchers are all arranged by Amanpulo staff. Guests fly directly to Pamalican Island in a 19-seat, twin-engine turboprop, landing at the resort's private airstrip. The cost of the roundtrip air transfer, Manila-Amanpulo-Manila, is US$300 per adult. Baggage is limited to 20kg per adult, including carry-on luggage. |
