5 STAR LUXURY RESORT • 354 ROOMS & 41 SUITES Colorful gardens, lush foliage, and bubbling fountains welcome leisure travelers to this 300-acre, Mediterranean-style resort. A grand marble entryway, sparkling chandeliers, and ornate works of art grace the lobby. Guests discover a quiet corner for reading or conversation in front of the fireplace in the lobby bar, where the entrance is guarded by two marble lions. HOTEL RESERVATIONS | BOOK FLIGHTS | CAR RENTAL AMENITIES Room decor features terra-cotta floors and Asian area rugs. Rooms have private, furnished balconies or patios with garden, golf course, tennis court, or pool views. There are DVD players, desks, ceiling fans, minibars, three TVs with premium channels, fax machines (surcharge), and separate sitting areas. Marble bathrooms have separate showers and jetted tubs, bidets, bathroom scales, and phones. Other amenities include bathrobes, slippers, down pillows, and Italian Frette linens. High-speed Internet access ($14 daily fee; subject to change). Refrigerators and microwaves are available upon request (surcharge). WEATHER - January - High 75F/Low 59F; July - High 88F/Low 75F DINING The Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club introduced its newest restaurant, The Cascata Grille. At the Cascata Grille, guests can enjoy a variety of savory menu items in the open airy setting of an outdoor café. Cuisine at the Cascata Grille will be in the hands of the resort's Executive Chef, Hubert Des Marais, and will showcase a blend of Mediterranean flavors and fresh Florida selections all organically grown from local farmers. Chef Des Marais has created a menu featuring dishes such as Moroccan Chicken Tangine, Pistachio Encrusted Indian River Soft Shell Crabs and Fairchild Mango Crisp. Before dinner guests can wind down with a cocktail at the bar, located in an alcove off to the side of the dinning room, featuring flat screen TV's and an assortment of spirits. Outdoor seating offer views of a waterfall and the resort's new North golf course. The Cascata Grille will open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is one of the several transformations the Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club has undergone after the $100 million renovation and its grand re-opening this past December (2006). ACTIVITIES Swimming Pool Golf: The Turnberry Isle is home to two 18-hole championship golf courses and a driving range designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Spa: A 25,000-square-foot health spa includes 26 treatment rooms and a fitness center with weight and cardio equipment and aerobics classes. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS This expansive golf resort in Aventura is two miles from Sunny Isles Beach, six miles from Bal Harbour Shops, and a half-mile from the Aventura Mall. South Beach nightlife is 20 miles away.
