LUXURY GOLF RESORT 203 ROOMS & 13 SUITES
New...Gleneagles 10 new "Spirit Suites," open June 2007, named after liquor brands owned by Diageo, world-leading drinks corporation and parent company of Gleneagles, the nine one- and two-bedroom suites are crowned by a split-level "The Blue Tower Spirit Suite" housed in 560 square feet of space in Gleneagles' original tower, over the hotel's entrance, complete with its own private roof-top Jacuzzi. The development comprises a redesign of Gleneagles' top floor accommodation, part of a wider $36 million development program in preparation for its hosting the Ryder Cup in 2014.
Set in its own 850-acre estate and surrounded by breathtaking Perthshire scenery, this most complete resort is elegant and spacious with luxurious guest rooms. The finest local produce is exquisitely served in the hotel's restaurants. World-renowned golf, shooting school, falconry, off-road driving, spa, and The Club make Gleneagles a truly great hotel.
Described as "a Riviera on the Highlands" as well as the "eighth wonder of the world," Gleneagles is opulent and refined, yet also refreshingly relaxed. Like a vast secret palace hidden in southeast Scotland's breathtaking countryside, Gleneagles is the ultimate resort for discerning world travelers with an outdoorsy edge that will relish this 850-acre recreation-friendly estate.
Spend your day like a true countryman--or woman--enjoying the Equestrian Center, falconry, angling at the resort's trout loch, or off-road driving. Four championship courses with a golf academy, year-round tennis, indoor and outdoor heated pools, squash, courts and state-of-the-art gymnasium round out the incredible selection of recreation. Then, celebrate the day's end with a soothing treatment at The Club & Spa, a gift for yourself at the shopping arcade or with a savory meal of Highland grouse at one of the resort's award-winning restaurants.

SPA & FITNESS Opened in April 2008, The Spa at Gleneagles by ESPA, spans 20,500 square feet. The spa features 20 treatment rooms, most with their own bathrooms. The design draws from Gleneagles Hotel's Art Deco style and uses Coco Chanel's clean-lined aesthetic as a key influence. One of the most stunning features of the spa is the dark brown, nearly black, vitality pool, lit by fiber optics and set against a glass wall that looks into the light and airy Courtyard. In addition to ESPA's signature menu, The Spa at Gleneagles by ESPA is offering a bespoke spa treatment, the Golfer's Tonic Massage, targeting swing tension held in the back and neck as well as golf-weary legs and feet. The £8 million renovation of the spa is part of the wider £18 million development program at Gleneagles in preparation for hosting the Ryder Cup in 2014. |

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS There are castles and historic sites to visit, tours of the countryside to enjoy, the whisky trail to follow (visits to the distilleries), local Highland Games and sheep dog trials to see and the cultural and shopping centers of Glasgow and Edinburgh are only an hour away.
The hills beckon the more energetic walker, with the promise of spectacular views over wild moors, glinting lochs and rivers. A more gentle stroll through the sheltered glens will reveal a contrasting lushness. Seasonal Scottish food is simply the best using the highest quality ingredients that are unrivalled. From luscious raspberries or loganberries to rich cream from summer pastures, from plump summer salmon to grouse from the moors and succulent West Coast seafood, this is the stuff from which our chefs make gastronomic dreams.
Few who have enjoyed a summer break at Gleneagles will forget the scent of heather and pines, the soft warmth and the long, lingering summer evenings. |
