LOCAL ATTRACTIONS Hakone is part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, less than 100 kilometers from Tokyo. Famous for hot springs, outdoor activities, natural beauty and the view of nearby Mt. Fuji, Hakone is one of the most popular destinations among Japanese and international tourists looking for a break from Tokyo.
Hakone is a collection of several small towns spread over a large, mountainous area. Most people will first arrive at Odawara or Hakone Yumoto from where there are bus connections and a mountain train into the inner regions of Hakone.
This noble residence is set in beautiful surroundings in the national park of Hakone.
In the district of Kanagawa (adjoining Tokyo) on the island of Honshu, Kamakura is sacred to Buddhists who, in the past thousand years, have erected numerous temples and sanctuaries there. The remarkable element in a region full of charm is undoubtedly the Kamakura Buddha, the building of which started in the 13th century at the instigation of the itinerant monk, Shamon-Joko. The past few centuries have brought few modifications to the town influenced by the Zen style. |
