Created by hotel impresario Steve Wynn, this lavish, $2.7-billion resort opened in spring 2005. The curved building, sheathed in bronze-tinted glass, stands like a beacon at the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip. A pine-covered artificial mountain with shimmering waterfalls rises at the entrance. The light-filled lobby is a floral fantasy, brimming with spheres of colorful blooms. Parasols suspended from the ceiling dance up and down in time to music.
Centered on a 3-acre lake illuminated with thousands of color-changing lights, the Lake of Dreams is a multimedia show encompassing music, light, art, and natural elements.
In addition to dozens of designer boutiques such as Cartier, Dior, Manolo Blahnik, and Chanel, the resort features a Ferrari and Maserati showroom. A vast outdoor pool comprises a long section with an oval area at either end, and a bridge spanning the center. Internationally acclaimed chefs, including Daniel Boulud, showcase their creations at a wide array of restaurants. Le Rêve, an aquatic spectacular, is presented in a domed theater.
Casino developer Stephen Wynn and nightclub operator Sean Christie have partnered to create Blush, the first boutique nightclub in Las Vegas, which opens Labor Day weekend 2007 at the Wynn Las Vegas resort. Formerly the location of Lure, the venue will undergo a complete remodel. The 4,500 square-foot club will feature a lit onyx dance floor and crème lantern ceiling sculpture. This central art focal piece will create various hues and images. Décor also includes a palette of deep green, chocolate brown, gold and metallics; a series of contemporary paintings; additional seating banquettes around a new dance floor; and an enhanced, open-air patio and bar. A private, draped VIP Room is available for up to 25 people. Additional men's and women's restrooms are being added, as well as amenities such as purse drawers at each seat and personal lockers for belongings. Asian appetizers from Red 8 will be served nightly. Beverage menus, including wines by the glass or bottle and a collection of infused Vodkas, will change on a monthly basis. The club will feature an eclectic mix of music, including rock n' roll and hip hop. For visitors, the cover is $30. Blush will be open nightly at 5 pm. Table reservations are highly recommended.
