Gidleigh Park is an idyllic manor house standing in the midst of Dartmoor National Park, Devon, renowned for its wealth of prehistoric remains.

Enjoy rambling and horse-riding in the beautiful Devon countryside or fishing in the North Teign River. The house is set in 45 acres of magnificent and secluded gardens and woodland on the North Teign River, within Dartmoor National Park. Public rooms and bedrooms are individually furnished by Kay Henderson with antiques and fine English fabrics. There is a log fire burning every day of the year, and cut flowers brighten every room. Gidleigh Park is located in the South-west corner of England in Devon - and situated within Dartmoor, a National Park boasting the largest and wildest area of open country in the south of England. The property is also just a few short miles away is the charming, ancient village of Chagford. Gidleigh Park is located just outside of the village of Chagford. Chagford itself lies in a parish rich in prehistoric remains and it is likely that much of the area has been continually settled for more than 4,000 years. A Charter of 1305 ordained that Chagford should bc one of the Stannary Towns of Devon, a place where smelted tin was collected for stamping and taxation purposes. Chagford also shared in the prosperity enjoyed by Devon's woollen industry, especially in the 16th century and later in the 18th and 19th centuries. High quality late-16th and early 17th-century buildings, such as the Three Crowns and Endecott House, reflect Chagford's prosperity of that time.
