There are new changes to the Costalegre Coast in May 2011 with the recent closings of El Careyes Hotel and the El Tamarindo Beach Resort. Now, Las Alamandas is THE only resort in Costa Careyes.
Managed as an elegant yet "laid back", private estate where guests are accorded the highest standards of hospitality, this exclusive beachfront hideaway is situated on over 1,500 acres of pristine tropical Paradise with only seven villas accommodating a maximum of 42 guests.
Each villa is decorated in the jewel-like colors chosen by owner/developer Isabel Goldsmith-Patiño. A pleasing mix of designs, fabrics, and crafts were selected from all over Mexico. Rattan sofas upholstered in canary yellow or shocking pink hold bright-colored embroidered cushions on which to take a siesta. Mexican folk art hand-painted artifacts enliven each room.
Accommodations include large, hand-painted, Mexican "Talavera" tile baths featuring oversized tub and shower, bidet, double sinks and large open shelving, as well as private terraces and full-sized living/dining areas. All Suites and Deluxe Rooms are furnished with mini bar.

Casa del Sol (Presidential Suite) - Luxurious Beachfront Villa with infinity plunge pool and Jacuzzi - 3 bedrooms.
Casa Isabel (Owner's former residence) - Beachfront Villa - 3 bedrooms. The Casa Isabel Master is 2,167 sq. ft. and occupies the first level of the villa with its own private plunge pool. The Casa Isabel Upper Level King occupies the entire second floor of the villa and is 1,245 square feet. It features a private rooftop terrace with panoramic ocean views.
Casa del Domo (Most private, secluded villa) - Beachfront Villa with Jacuzzi - 2 bedrooms.
Casa Azul - Garden and Ocean View Villa - 3 bedrooms. The Casa Azul Master occupies the entire second floor of the villa and is 2,013 square feet. It features a rooftop terrace with panoramic views.

GETTING THERE
Puerto Vallarta (PVR) - 2 hour drive. / Manzanillo (ZLO) - 1.5 hour drive. Las Alamandas private asphalt airstrip (3,300 feet long) is available for use by either private or small charter planes.
The hotel can arrange transfers by air conditioned 4-wheel-drive vehicle (US$225 + 15% tax and 15% service) or charter plane (approx US$1300 and takes less than 45 minutes). Las Alamandas is a 2 hour drive south of Puerto Vallarta and 1.5 hours north of Manzanillo, the last half an hour of which is slow going along a bumpy dirt road into the back of beyond. CHILD POLICY

Kids' Club - The new Las Alamandas Kids' Club offers a sophisticated mini-resort all its own, specifically designed for the young vacationers to Paradise. Surrounded by lush lawns directly beside the beach with panoramic ocean views, the Kids' Club consists of an open-air pergola with programmed kids' activities (coloring, painting, crafts), fun-filled playground equipment ("Jungle Gym" with spiral slide, swings, monkey bars, playhouse and more), a variety of toys, games, badminton setup, and mini soccer field.
