Rooms & Suites: 9

Barbuda's Lighthouse Bay Resort offers exclusivity and seclusion situated on its own 17-mile stretch of Caribbean Sea.

Accessible only by helicopter or boat, the resort is located on a narrow strip of land between the powdery white and pink coral sand beach with clear turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea and the blue-green Codrington Lagoon. With only nine suites, guests enjoy unparalleled attention making for a very private retreat. Complimentary long distance phone calls, WiFi and laptops in each room enable guests to easily stay connected even in this remote paradise. Everything about the property exudes a perfect vacation setting from the awe-inspiring Caribbean colors to the gastronomic presentations of locally caught, famous Barbuda lobster and fresh fish served daily in the open-air, beachside restaurant. Throughout the day, guests can enjoy the Lighthouse Bay Bar's selection of top shelf spirits, French inspired wine list, fruity Caribbean cocktails and freshly squeezed juices and smoothies. Options abound at this luxe retreat including swimming, long walks on the beach, kayaking, horseback riding, in-room massages, eco excursions and more. Opened in 2007, new developments in 2011 include an organic garden providing locally grown ingredients and private luxury villas for sale.

Wow Factors

• This intimate resort is set all by itself on 17 miles of the best beach on the planet. • The views arriving by helicopter are spectacular. • The beachfront "Blue Whale" Suite #21 is spacious and luxurious. • Executive Chef Lennox Cadogan cooked for Princess Diana and his culinary creations are definitely worthy of royalty. (All personal food preferences and requests can be accommodated) • Your host, General Manager Terrence Linton, is at your service at all times. • Housekeeping is discreet and top rate (never saw a housekeeper, yet accommodations were always spotless)

Insider Tips

• The resort is remote, so be prepared for total relaxation. • Accommodations are pricey, but the location and experience is priceless. You don't find places like this anymore! • View sea turtles (seasonal) • 3 of the 4 Master Suite balconies face the lagoon rather than the Caribbean and are semi-private (no solid partition separating you from your neighbor). • The resort is closed during hurricane season in Sept/Oct. • An occasional yacht will moor offshore.

Accommodations

1 Grand Suite - Beachfront with private terrace. The only suite with a bathtub. 4 Master Suites - Lagoon View with semi-private balconies; One Master Suite has partial view of both Caribbean and Lagoon. 4 Junior Suites - Studio-style with direct access to central swimming pool (can be connected to Master Suites to create 2-Bedroom Suites).
