The Pousada Picinguaba is a traditional converted fazenda, set in a pristine bay surrounded by the mountainous Atlantic jungle. This small hotel provides excellent local and organic cuisine and there are a number of activities in the area such as fishing, abseiling, hiking and even sailing on the hotel's private Schooner. All the bedrooms have views over the sea and there is also a swimming pool in the gardens overlooking the unspoilt beaches. The hotel is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, within the heart of a protected national park. Guided hikes within the forest to natural pools and secluded waterfalls are highly recommended, as is a visit to the nearby colonial town of Parati.
