The Rancho Bernardo Inn in north San Diego has completed a $25 million enhancement and expansion program. Among the improvements: The newly remodeled Spa at Rancho Bernardo features an outdoor garden area with temperature-controlled treatment casitas, outdoor fireplaces, custom-designed water features and sunning lounges. The spa features a new menu of treatments and services that reflect the resort's culinary offerings, including a "tasting menu" of spa services for spa-goers. The new, 2,500-square-foot Aragon Pool and hydro-spa is situated next to the spa and gardens, surrounded by seven cabanas. Situated at the northern end of the property, the new Aragon Ballroom retains the early California/Spanish feel of the resort, but with modern amenities such as wired and wireless Internet, ceiling rigging points, and isolated power for extensive lighting and sound equipment. Accommodating up to 1,000 people, the ballroom is part of the 27,000-square-foot conference center, in addition to the existing 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The 287 guest rooms, which are set within eight buildings on the 265-acre property, now feature a palette of colors such as green, terra cotta, garnet and taupe. In addition, rooms have been outfitted with platform bed frames, new couches and chairs, upgraded linens, increased workspace, and 42-inch, flat-screen televisions, as well as artwork and antiques. Each room is also Wi-Fi accessible, and free for guests.
