Rooms & Suites: 20

The Sago Hotel strikes the perfect balance between the modern New York experience and the primordial past.

A luxury boutique hotel grounded in the eclectic Lower East Side, The Sago is an orchestra of mechanical and rustic energies. The building's display of exposed brick, ceramic tile geometry, and industrial steel beams orient the imagination to its foundation. An atmospheric medley of urbane fragments and light, the lustrous inner world of The Sago Hotel is the quintessential launchpad into your perfect New York City experience.

Woven brick by brick into the heart of Manhattan's vibrant design epicenter, The Sago Hotel basks in the glow of New York City's most alluring metropolitan gem - The Lower East Side (LES). As one of the city's oldest neighborhoods, The LES has historically been fertile ground for new and spontaneous forms of artistic expression. The Sago Hotel furnishes this legendary backdrop with cool sophistication, making it the preferred starting point from which to experience the city's diverse and eclectic phenomena.

Sago hotel, located at 120 Allen Street, in the heart of LES (Lower East Side), first opened its doors on January 15, 2016 with its official grand opening event on February 15th.

Explore

The Sago Hotel is situated in the heart of Manhattan's historic lower east side neighborhood. Walking distance from the subway. Conveniently located near retail stores, restaurants and bars. TENEMENT MUSEUM - preserves and interprets the history of immigration through the personal experiences of the generations of newcomers who settled in and built lives on Manhattan's Lower East Side, America's iconic immigrant neighborhood; forges emotional connections between visitors and immigrants past and present; and enhances appreciation for the profound role immigration has played and continues to play in shaping America's evolving national identity. RUSS & DAUGHTERS - This family-run LES "landmark" dating to 1914 is in a "class by itself" thanks to the "new generation" there that's "keeping up the quality" with "drool-worthy displays" of "legendary offerings", notably sable and "lox to dream of", "herring perfection", "top-quality" caviar and more, from bagels and babka to dried fruits and chocolate; it's always a "mad scene", especially at holidays ("oy vey!"), but the counter folk are "super helpful", so "take a number" – "it's worth the lines" and "expensive" tab to "order some of the best" with a side of "history." KATZ DELI - In 1888, a small deli by the name of Iceland Brothers was established on Ludlow Street in New York's Lower East Side by the Iceland brothers. Katz's Deli was moved across the street, to its present location, during the construction of the subway system. The vacant lot on Houston Street (pronounced "House-ton" after a Dutch emigrant of the same name) was home to barrels of meat and pickles until the present storefront facade was added between 1946-49.
