The interior, rewarded with the Villégiature Award for Best Interior Design in a Hotel in Europe, was designed by the renowned French architect Sybille de Margerie. Inspired by Karel Appel’s fur-coloured mural in the restaurant section of the hotel, De Margerie combined this style with natural, luxurious materials such as mahogany, marble and steel. In collaboration with students from the Design Academy in Eindhoven and Droog Design, she created a harmonious mix of traditional and contemporary style with typical Dutch elements.
