The leisure activities of the stunning resort include swimming and boating on Upper Saranac Lake's clear water, hiking and biking in the extensive mountain trails, hunting and fishing in season, and Nordic and alpine skiing in the winter, as well as ice fishing, skating, and the whole range of winter sports that the nearby Lake Placid Olympic Village has to offer. • The former summer camp of William Avery Rockefeller, the intimate resort stands just as it did in his day. • All accommodations are pretty spectacular, but The Boathouse is the one with the "WOW" factor. • Sleep in Rockefeller's former private library that he even kept secret from his wife. She had to return years later and ask permission to see it! • All bathrooms have been renovated and are classic but fully modern at the same time. Sparkling glassed-in rainshowers stand side-by-side with claw-foot tubs. Many baths have fantastic views.
